Dear AFA Patients,

We want to personally share an important update with you.

Due to an unexpected medical leave, Dr. Silk is currently out of the office indefinitely. This is a significant health matter, and while we are unable to share a specific timeline, we appreciate your understanding and respect for her privacy.

Please know that our commitment to you and your care has not changed. We are actively recruiting multiple physicians to join our practice and are optimistic about welcoming new providers soon. We look forward to sharing more positive news as these additions are finalized.

During this transition, our team is working thoughtfully and intentionally to ensure that patients with urgent and time-sensitive needs — including cancer care, surgical gynecology, and high-risk obstetrics — are seen promptly and safely. To maintain access to care, you may be scheduled with a provider other than your usual clinician in the interim. We appreciate your flexibility as we navigate this unexpected change.

Our administrative and scheduling staff are doing their absolute best under challenging circumstances, often behind the scenes, to coordinate appointments, manage schedules, and support our patients with care and professionalism. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as they work tirelessly on your behalf.

We understand that continuity and familiarity matter deeply in healthcare, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us. This is a temporary period of adjustment, and our focus remains on delivering the personalized, compassionate care that defines AFA.

Finally, we ask that you join us in extending kindness and well wishes to Dr. Silk as she focuses on her health. We appreciate the empathy and compassion our community has shown during this time.

Warmly,

Emily Strehle, DO; Sherriann Perivolotis, CNM; and Erin Sienkiewicz, MD
