Late Cancellation/No Show fees
Our office has adopted a $75 fee for office no show appointments & late cancellations. A 24-hour notice is required in order to avoid a late cancellation/no show fee. There is also a $100 fee for surgeries rescheduled or cancelled within 2 weeks of the scheduled procedure.

Office Ultrasounds
For your convenience, we do provide ultrasound services in all 3 of our office locations. Ultrasounds are billed in 2 parts. This is true regardless of the location (office or hospital setting).
Technical component – This fee includes the provision of all the equipment, supplies, personnel and costs related to the performance of the ultrasound. This billing is done by our office, AFA OBGYN. We will submit the claim to your insurance company for processing. You will be responsible for any copay, coinsurance or deductible.
Professional component – This fee is for the radiologist or perinatologist reading, interpreting & writing a written report of the ultrasound. This service will be billed by North Bridge Imaging for gynecologic scans or Boston MFM for obstetrical scans.If you receive a bill for their services, please contact them directly for questions, insurance updating, payment, etc.

Laboratory Services
Our office does employ a phlebotomist for blood draws in our office. Our office bills your insurance for the draw fee ONLY. Most specimens (blood draws, pap smears, cultures, etc.) are sent to Emerson Hospital for processing. There are some specialty tests that may need to be sent to an outside laboratory (i.e. Quest Diagnostics)They will bill your insurance for this testing. The only fee charged by our office is for the collection of the specimen.
Genetic Testing
AFA OB/GYN, PC offers genetic testing for both obstetrical and gynecological patients. Our office utilizes Natera for genetic testing for obstetrical patients. All insurance estimates, billing and authorizations are done by Natera. Please click here
